Soviet-Era & Russian Awards Porcelain Items

While wandering through the pages of eBay I came across these most interesting Soviet-era and Russian porcelain items:

The first is a Russian porcelain plate commemorating The 50th Anniversary of the Soviet Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Made in 1995 at the Baranovka porcelain plant near Zhitomir, Ukraine. Size: 6.6 inches diameter. Very Good - Excellent condition.

The second is a Soviet-era porcelain vase commemorating To The Veteran of the Great Patriotic War in Honor of the 40th Anniversary of the Victory. Made in 1985 at the Dovbysh porcelain plant in Ukraine, USSR. Size: 10.2 inches tall. Very Good - Excellent condition.

The third is a Soviet-era porcelain plate depicting the The Order of the Red Banner. Made at the Sumy porcelain plate in the Ukraine, USSR. Size: 6.6 inches diameter. Very Good - Excellent condition.

While I'm no expert in the area of Soviet-era and Russian porcelain these items look like they'd make great additions to one's Soviet Military Awards collection!

The second Soviet-era porcelain plate contains an image of the Order of the Great Patriotic War and says: Nobody is Forgotten, Nothing is Forgotten: 1945-1975. Made in 1975 at the Korosten porcelain plant near Zhitomir, Ukraine, USSr. Size: 4.7 inches diameter. Good - Very Good condition.

The third Soviet-era porcelain plate contains an image of the Order of the Great Patriotic War and says: Congratulations With Victory Day: 1945-1990. Made in 1990 at Budy faience plant near Kharkov, Ukraine, USSR. Size: 6.5 inches in length. Probably one of the last Soviet-era porcelain pieces ever made.

Another interesting piece currently on eBay: Order of the October Revolution procelain plate. Inscription on obverse: <60th Anniversary of Great October>. Reverse: <60 Aviation Fighter Orshanskiy Red Banner, Order Suvorov Regiment Named After F. Dzerzhinskiy>. Size: 4 3/4 inches. Made in USSR in 1977.

I think some of these would be great looking if you had a nice Soviet display setup. One of those plates on a shelf between a couple of visors would look snappy. Thanks Clete

You're welcome, Clete! I thought they looked pretty good myself. Now if I could find one with the Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Soviet Union or Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation Badge I'd be set!

Here's my example I got from Russia via eBay a few years back. I like it a lot and it looks good on my wall.

I have seen high-quality fakes of 1930-1940's era, military mess-hall porcelain items such as service plates and individual plates.

For me I would buy the fake ones before I bought a period one. For me it would a nice accent to the rest of my collection. I would rather save the money from buying a period plate and by a medal. Thanks Clete
