Unknown arts badge
A Soviet badge related to arts and music. I thin the badge was made at the end of 1930s. May be early 1940s. Any information on it would be highly appreciated.

Re: Unknown arts badge
Without any context whatsoever, I would guess it it just a fantasy creation. The pieces all look familiar, just not in combination. Also, nothing looks very old at all.

Re: Unknown arts badge
I agree with Phillip.
In particular the way the chain attaches to the red star worries me a bit. I would have expected a better and more artistic and elegant connection - not just around the threaded post as it appears here. Simon |

Re: Unknown arts badge
I believe this be an award for a participant in a cultural art exhibition. Other Badges serving a similar purpose had a rarer similar appearance.
Many of the awards will have been produced by small "shops" rather than mints so the uniformity of industrialised mass production doesn't always ring true.
