Short, concrete description of his combat feat or merits:

Driver Udod, during his time in the 1st Battery has proved himself to be one of the best drivers in the regiment. His vehicle is always in good working condition. He personally ensures its repair in a timely manner, sourcing all of the replacement parts.
Thanks to the extraordinary display of concern and care for his vehicle, his truck pulled 2 guns at a time, making 2 trips. Thanks to his truck the 1st Battery emerged from a difficult situation while retaining its transport vehicles.
Despite running out of fuel and suffering from an attack of malaria with his temperature being 39.8°C, he was among the first to reach the crossing of the River Dnieper and the ferrying across of the materiel sections, this therefore enabled the execution of the batteries combat mission of protecting the units being ferried from air attack.
For ensuring the ferrying of materiel across the Dnieper in a timely manner and showing bravery, courage and valour he is worthy of the government award, the Order of the Red Star.

Regiment Commander
Captain / [signed] / Linya

21.10.1943

"приступе малярии"

Perhaps it was just a bad fever, or was Malaria out there on the Steppe?

OK, turns out I am a medical ignorant, there were malaria in the East Europe in 1930s and 1940s (e.g. in Poland in 1938there were over 300 people sick and it was a decrease compared to the previous years), so it was not impossible for him to get the disease during the WW2
