Fake KGB table medal?

This one just looks too sloppy to be real. "Special Communications" - any thoughts?

I'm starting to find more of these "KGB Table Medals" that look odd. Here's another one.

Phillip, the lack of detail would worry me as well. Looks like cast copies?

If it was a medal that somebody wore every day the less than crisp state may be explained by over zealous cleaning but I haven't come across anybody who over cleaned table medals.

I agree with Simon, they definitely look cast.

Thank you both. I suppose that I should have guessed that anything with a sword and shield would eventually be copied (post #2) and I'm not even sure if the one in the first post ever really existed until recently (if you get my meaning);).

Very sad and frustrating because the original version of the medal in post #2 is a well-known one and not exactly cheap.:(
