Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star
I'm far from an expert that but the serial number looks terrible to me. I can't imagine why anyone would ruin a perfectly good Red Star only to give it such a high serial number. Some people have no respect.
It also looks very clean, almost new. I would take a very close look, and perhaps post more pics. |

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star
Hello,
the answer is quite simple: to make it match the papers coming with it  A shame indeed! I don`t want to know, how many beautiful orders were ruined like this one up to now... There are genuine Red Stars with terrible engraved serial number... just take a look at this one from my collection (indeed, I just bought it, BECAUSE of this terrible engraved serial number :D) Last edited by Shocktrooper; 01-18-2015 at 03:44 AM. |

The bidding for this Red Star & Nevsky group currently stands at over $1200 (USD) on a popular auction site. It is too bad some unlucky bidder is going to be quite unhappy. . . |

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star
Hello Paul,
a tanker`s group was offered on E*** from Lithuania. I was looking for such one for approximately 20 years now. T34/85 tank platoon commander of a spearhead / intelligence tank platoon (Павел Кириллович Трусов AN #7887). He destroyed 8 Pz IV`s, 2 heavy self - propelled guns and took more than 250 prisoners during two occasions. For the first one he had won the Red Star, which appeared to be fake as you said. The other award was an Alexander Nevsky, which I posted in the "Fake Alexander Newsky" - Section. Referring to the archive, all information was correct, but the items themself seem questionable. That was the reason why I posted the images here. Never mind - the group was sold yesterday evening for more than 2500,- € ... And I maybe will have to wait another 20 years... With kind regards. Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star
OK, sorry for my tardiness. If it helps, if one part of a set is fake or altered, the set is already by definition bogus and it increases the probability that other components are similarly bad.

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star
Hello Paul,
thank you and I think you`re generally right. What do you think about the Nevsky ? I think, it`s a genuine order and mint conversion. But I maybe wrong here... Do you think, that 2500,- € is a reasonable Price for this order + it`s history ? Thank you very much!!! |

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star
Hey guys, new to the forum. I've been lurking and hopefully learning a lot of the signs of fake stars from you. Can you tell me if these two stars are real?
