Badge "Champion Of The Socialist Competition 1977".

Hi all,

I'm starting on collectin' miscallaneous labor-related badges and pins. Been doing some basic research online, and these Winner of the Socialist Competition-badges keep popping up (see picture included). There seems to be a whole series of similar items ranging from the 70's to the 80's. I was hoping someone could give me a few basic details; since when have they been issued and exactly for what feats (exceeding quotas, innovative methods?), are they being faked?

I think it's safe to say at the present there are no fakes (until you create a run on them). These are constructed like veteran znachki and because they are so simply (and crudely?) constructed, fakes would actually be difficult to make and pull it off.

They all came with docs that are formatted the same as medal docs of the same era. I think these started around '72, and maybe went up to around '79 or '80 with the year number, and then maybe switched to a roman-numeral format for something like five-year plans?

At least years 1973-1980 exist.
Could be other years also.
