NKVD Captured Kornilov Shoulder Boards.

I have gotten in some really neat items from Ukraine in the past, but this one takes the cake.

Its a set of Kornilov boards and tabs from 1919-1921 captured in the Ukraine during the Russian Civil War. Odd enough, but still with the original capture wrapping and NKVD inventory tags. Tags say " Rostov Oblast Archive NKVD".

There are a dozen sets in total. Some molding, but you have to imagine where these have been for the past 70+ years.

Really cool! Do you think these were ever issued out before their capture, or do they look like unissued examples?

...issued; rust mark where the shoulderboard buttons are, uneven wear between sets, etc. Perhaps it was a way of accounting for numbers captured?

I can pull back a bit, but not too much as i do not want to damage the rope ties. There is some mold too that covers parts of the boards but comes off. I can't do much to them as I have a policy of not altering items before they are sent out.l I had to send these out to a client this morning. Fun to play with a bit.
