As "Dear Leader" of the DPRK for seventeen and a half years and son of the "Great Leader" for the entire history of the DPRK with 21 years of being a designated heir before inheriting power as well as being Marshal and Supreme Commander of the KPA for all but 20 years, Kim Jong-Il was a high level international figure well before becoming a nation's leader and alike other high level politicians and world leaders was subjected to the awarding of many awards and titles.

As Kim Jong-Il was born during the turmoil of Japanese occupation and the Great Patriotic War and was also too young to serve in the combatant part of the Korean War, he was not a participant of combat although as there has not been a peace treaty he could be seen as a "Veteran Of The Korean War" due to his military service in any period 25th June 1950 to date.

Finally identified the final award - Commemorative Medal "Huichon Power Station" (희천발전소기념메달). Founded on 21st October 2011, so not very long before his death. One of these awards will be presented in detail soon.
