Re: Faked supreme soviet of the USSR badge
Hm, the badge looks quite convincing / good to me.
Only the mint mark looks strange in my oppinion. Do you think it is a copy? Early mint mark from the 30`s / 40´s??? The srewplate has Mondvor mint mark on reverse (pre 1943). best regards Andreas Last edited by Alfred; 12-05-2010 at 06:24 AM. |

Re: Faked supreme soviet of the USSR badge
Looks good but i'm confused, i'm still checking for another example of hand engraved mint mark but nothing. Weight is 9.2 grams (without screwplate) and match with the other one in my collection. In my opinion the screwplate doesn't match with the badge, is genuine but not match with the diameter of the screwplate mark on the reverse of the badge.
Two closeup: Mint mark and number. I'm still confused but the badge is now in my collection :) |

Re: Faked supreme soviet of the USSR badge
I'm more bothered by the awkward lettering on the obverse. Look very closely (this is something that only seems to become visible in photos) and you will see that the thickness of the lines vary - a great deal - from one side, to the middle and then the other end. Be careful with this one.

I'll be the first one to admit that I am no expert in those badges, but looks good to me.

Re: Soviet badges 1920's to 1945
So it appears I did upload them correctly. Are there any comments to these 6old Supreme Soviet badges. They include an Estonian screwback, Byelorussian screwback, Volga German screwback, Moldovian screwback, Crimea screwback and Buryat-Mongolian screwback. Jack

Individual, hi-resolution pictures/scans of the front and backs would help, as these are widely (and excellently) faked. Marc |

That was a fast response. Here are some fronts. I will try to get some
other photos later. Jack |

Estonian one made by original die. But there is a mistake that gives it away as well as others.
