Concise, concrete statement of personal combat feat During the Great Patriotic War, Senior Seaman YEREMICHEV P.I. has excellently prepared and in proper time time deployed more than 1500 mines on fleet vessels strictly within the deadlines established by Command. For lack of minelaying specialists on ships and motor boats, he carried out the organization of mine barriers [or “laying of mine barriers”/obstacles/mine fields] in enemy waters with Torpedo Boat 217 in 1941 and a 100-ton minesweeper in 1944. According to the testimonials of the commanders of these ships, he acted skillfully and decisively, thus greatly contributing to the success of the minelaying. On the fort “Peter” [probably refers to Blokshiv 4] he carried out minesweeping operations and with excellence preliminarily prepared more than 1000 mines of various types in a condensed period. He carried out the unloading and loading of ammunition in the amount of 1000 tons onto railway wagons at the transit base “Lisy Nos” on an extremely organized schedule [literally, “time”]. Thanks to his selfless work and great practical experience in the work of preparing and loading mines, comrade YEREMICHEV with his selfless labor facilitated the mine storehouse’s fulfillment of its production program and financial plan. For the excellent preparation of and prompt supply of mines to the ships of the fleet, skillful action and the laying of minefields with ships of the fleet, senior seaman YEREMICHEV P. I. is deserving of the government award- The Nakhimov Medal Head of Mine-Torpedo Operations for the Kronstadt Naval Defense Region of the Red Banner Baltic Fleet Captain 3rd Rank KISTICHENKO Ivan Vasilievich [signed] “13” May 1945 “In agreement” Head of Mine-Torpedo Operations for the Red Banner Baltic Fleet Captain 1st Rank Popik [signed] “21” May 1945 My thanks to RedMaestro2 & Auke for their invaluable assistance.
