Badge "Best Herder Of Stavropol".

Guys,
What do you think of these two badges?
They look quite attractive.

The first pic is described as the early form.
And this one the second form is made in the style of an Acadamy badge.

Well, I know that I have never seen these before. They look great, especially the early one. If I came across them for a reasonable price, I would buy them just on general principle. What is the seller asking for them? Are they on E? Good luck, I hope you get them and the price is fair.

I wish the seller the best of luck at those prices. As I wrote, these are new badges to me. However, at >$120 for the pair you would have to be pretty darn interested in sheep herding (or agriculture badges or whatever is your particular fancy) to spring for them.

I have a large number of badges and I see many more (admittedly, mostly late-issue tinnies these days) every time I go to the local flea market in Tbilisi. If these showed up there -- and I again admit to never having seen them -- I would expect them to bring something like $10-15 for the pair. I have a couple of guys who search Tbilisi for me to find unusual items like old badges and documents. For $120 I can and do regularly get some really interesting things.

Of course, if the seller and buyer are both in the US, or otherwise unable to buy interesting badges abroad, and this is the buyer's area of interest, then the law of supply and demand kicks in and you (really, here I mean I) pay the price just because something interests you. Nobody ever said that collecting has to make sense. Well, maybe my wife said that, but I didn't listen.

I have seen mongolian versions of these badges. Rusty has them.
In my opinion, they look nicer than soviet ones.
