That is what it says. There is nothing else - no symbols or other indicators - to suggest something more than an "all-purpose" acknowledgment of the Polish "People's Army."

It is "signed" though, and that is not very common to my knowledge. What does that little bit of writing beneath the soldier say anyway?

The medal is 7 cm, seems to bronze.

The legend says: "People's Polish Army", which by the way and contrary to the common belief was never an official name of the Polish Armed Forces. That signature is authior's signature and it can be sometimes fouind on table medals. This medal is probably not commemorative - seems to be given as a prize for some achievements. Unfortuantely, without a diploma or any other doc it is impossible to determine for what exactly - it seems to be a universal medal given to servicemen and civilians for various merits to the Army.
