Everyone, I have had this book since 1987...

Very nice reference for decrees and general look of orders, medals and honorary titles.

all of the "Distinguished" titles are in the book, along with the decrees and the pictures of the badges that were awarded.

I doubt that this is an official regulations book that you were asking for, but rather a unique reference for a phalerist.

I have always had an interest in Medals and Orders of USSR, and my parents thought that I would appreciate this birthday (?) present much more than anything else... They were right!

It is not the official regulations book you are looking for. I have that book but it is in storage so I am working from memory here. It is dark red/burgendu cover - almost brownsh and is a tall thin book, not a long thin book like Eric/Yolkin's one.

The regulations book has all he regulations, decrees and laws about Soviet orders and medals. I don't think it has anything on state prizes but I am not sure. It may have stuff on the distinguished badges. Maybe someone who has it can check. If memory serves me well it only has poor quality black and white drawings of the awards. It is only in Russian. There is no full translation in English but the best you can find are the excerpts of regulations in McDaniel's book.
