Serving with the 29th Independent Guards Tank Brigade during the combat actions between November 9 and 21, 1943, he took an active part in recovering and evacuating tanks that had been damaged in combat. Comrade Belous’ platoon systematically exceeded the established repair objectives by 100-150 percent. In a period of 12 days the platoon repaired 16 T-34 tanks. For the most part the work was conducted under enemy artillery and mortar shelling. Between December 1 and 10, 1943 the platoon repaired 7 tanks. On an everyday basis comrade Belous provided assistance to the Repair and Technical Maintenance Brigade of the 29th Independent Guards Tank Brigade, passing on his experience to his comrades and teaching them the difficult job of repairing engine-generators. Comrade Belous is a bold and demanding officer, capable of taking initiative. For his efforts and valor comrade Belous deserves the Order of the Red Star. Comrade Belous is currently with his unit. During his service in the battalion, comrade Belous was sent to forward positions near Marino, Pristennoye, and Bolshiye Seti with orders to recover combat vehicles, where he displayed bravery, calmness and fortitude. This enabled the vehicles to be put back into service in a timely manner. Between September 25, 1941 and January 20, 1942 comrade Belous repaired 7 T-34s, 5 BT tanks, 2 T-26s, as well as 12 GAZ-AAs, 10 ZIS-5s, and 3 light vehicles. The repairs were carried out in exceptionally difficult conditions. For example, repairs were carried out under the open sky and in field conditions, but regardless of the harsh circumstances, comrade Belous recovered a number of combat vehicles near Pristennoye and repaired combat vehicles while directly subjected to enemy actions. Despite the difficult situation comrade Belous reported that he would repair these tanks on the spot, which he then accomplished in a timely manner. Moreover, he taught his men about the workings of the combat vehicles. No difficulties can withhold comrade Belous from repairing combat vehicles. Comrade Belous deserves the Order of the Red Star.
