Army dagger

Some time ago I have purchased this dagger (no documents). It seems to be army (not navy) dagger. It is dated 58 and has number A0712. I have seen 2 other same daggers (in better condition) one dated 1951 and the other 57.
I wander what were this daggers awarded for?

And, basing on the foto, can anyone tell me if this one looks original?

air force...

standard air force officers parade dagger; issued, not awarded per se. Pretty common as all officers had them.

Ge one dated 1945 and its worth a good amount, but the post war ones are available on a regular basis.

I think that the Army and Air Force ones were only regularly issued to go with the M55 parade uniform which is why most you see are dated 1956-1959 era.

They were not regularly worn after that.

Navy is different as they wore them long after 1958.

Thank You for help.

I'am not planning on selling this one, but just asking because of curiosity: What would be a good price for such dagger in the west?

And the second question: How can I recognise army dagger (what are the differences between army and airforce ones)?

Maybe I am wrong, but it seems to me that the one I have is actualy army, not airforce dagger.

Al-muell,

Your dagger is the Army variation.

I've watched several of these up for auction recently on Ebay. They've all gone for about USD130, give or take. Generally all have been 1950s era issues, but there was one that was...hmm...going to bite my lip and say 1989, but I think I might have been 1992, sometime after the fall. That one went for USD125. This daggers are sharpend, correct? I was looking into buying one but never could find out if they were sharpend instruments or not.
