Soviet UN Observers Patch, Type 1

This is one of my favorite patches, due to the color and detail. I do not even want to imagine how you would go about cleaning a uniform if one of these was attached to it (in short, you don't).

Mine is also sport team patch.
What the size of yours?

Mine are roughly 8 cm in diameter. One is 8 cm, the other is around 7.7 cm.

Hmm, I'd love to get one in the collection, but my sources of acquisition are limited to folks here on the forum or ebay. Granted, the bulk of my collection came from many many years of hunting on ebay, so I have no major complaints.

The one patch (and I have accompanying green felt "CCCP" letters) came from the uniform of Lakov Zheleznyak, who won the gold medal in 50 meter running target at the 1972 Munich Games. What proof for this only comes from the seller, but I have always remembered the story as I have never had anyone tell me anything this specific about a patch.
