Artillery Visor.

Hi all,

Can anyone help me with this visor? The hat badge suggests that it is a militia visor but the color is green... Any suggestions?

USSR,

It is a parade cap for artillery. It simply has the wrong cap badge.

Why is that? I suppose the soldier himself nor the maker would have made that mistake. Done by a ignorant dealer?

Whether the dealer is ignorant or inescrupulous, the result is the same.

The soldier would have gotten in serious trouble if mixing cap badges in this way. No doubt it was done by the seller.

Likely made out of ignorance, not knowing or not having the correct badge.

There is little gain in deliberately placing the wrong badge on the cap as it does (IMHO) not gain in value being incorrect militia over correct army.

After all, changing the badge is easy done. If you want a correct badge you can have one from me at price of postage.
