Medal "Participant In Military Operations".

Although current Russian medal, but interesting. It is a medal of the Federal Frontier Service of RF, and the title of it is: MEDAL FOR FOR PARTICIPANT IN OPERATIONS. It is roughly equivalent of the Soviet medal "for combat service".

What is interesting is that one medal design could be awarded to different operations:

On the reverse side you can see that the medal on the left was awarded for service in Chechniya and the other for service in Tajikistan:

Authentic issued medals of the Russian Federation may be hard to get. Not all though.
