Anyone has ever come across an online (paying) database of this official newspaper/newsletter or maybe even through microfilm? If yes, I would be interested in learning where (from which service) this is available.

during the last month, I have done a lot of research in Pravda newspaper for all years and I have seen a lot of articles about awardings where the Ukaz where summarized in Pravda with a note to consult the "Vedomosti" for the text of full decrees.

This was an official newspaper of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR to publish all its decrees. There, we could get all researchable information for civilian awards with names of awardees and feats.

The details are:

In 1938 were issued in the form of newspapers, from 1954 - as a newsletter in the languages ​​of the Union republics.

Also, for military awards, there is the military equivalent "Gazette of the Armed Forces of the USSR"

I am sure one of us has already seen this or have access to this through his local/workplace/university/etc.. library. I would really like to learn more about it and how I could access it.

When I remeber right, some of these were somewhere online available (for the years from 1932-1940??).

But I forgot the link. I think it was posted here a long time ago.

Hi Andreas,
Yes, I got those through a fellow member of the forum (that was the decrees for the years1932-1942). Those were not in the Gazette and they were prior to its existence. I am looking more specifically for the GPW-era and post-GPW civilian awards.

By the end of this year I plan on having over 500 Soviet newspapers dating from the 20's to 50's (mainly 39-41). I will be attempting to scan them all but the success of that is yet to be seen. Hopefully it will be able to shed some light on some awardings (as well as everything else).

It will be a long long time before I finish presenting items in an aid to the hobby.

Hello Leon,
This site, while interesting, doesn't have any decree for state awarding. The decrees it has are for new and amendments to USSR laws.
