Russian Transport Lines Officer's Cap

Hi folks,

i just bought my self this cap. Amongst others but i will put them in another thread.

It was marketed to me as a RTL russian transport lines officers cap.
nothing more anybody could tell me about it.
i have cowled the internet and found nothing.

to me it looks like a cap with a badge stitched to it.
witch was not common use as fare as i know.
so even if the badge is original to it, what is it for.
but if the badge is not original to it what would it than be?

kind regards ser-g

Re: Russian Transport Lines Officer's Cap

On first glance why would the logo be in English? I have no idea what it is for; sorry I could not help. Clete

Re: Russian Transport Lines Officer's Cap

Weird, it looks like such a well made hat; the inside looks great!
But even if it was originally a military hat I can not for the life of me begin to wonder which branch it would belong to if any.
But they say it is a very militarized society with many uniforms for everything so anything is possible I guess.
I don't like the "badge" or patch or whatever you want to call it...sort of ruins the hat for me, but if original, why is it english?

Re: Russian Transport Lines Officer's Cap

Russian Transport Lines LLC was set up in 2004 as a full cycle logistics company. From 2005, RTL operates under direct contracts with the leading manufacturers of automobiles holding the leading position at the market of customs clearance of cars and other vehicles. The company specializes in search of optimal logistics solutions for import of vehicles, specialized equipment, components and spare parts as well as equipment for auto plants. In 2006, RTL Group, Sea Fishing Port and Onega terminal opened the first Russia’s sea terminal for import of vehicles in St. Petersburg. As of today, the Group implements an investment project on construction of a specialized sea terminal Novaya Gavan in the Leningrad region.

Re: Russian Transport Lines Officer's Cap

i think this cap is in no way a military one.
if it wear it would be some summer type of KGB cap.

i don't really like the badge either. but i will see if it is original to it if i get the cap in.

does any body know more about this RTL uniform

Although it might theoretically be part of a RTL uniform in the same blue-white colours, the apperance of the cap is unmistakably militaristic. The RTL logo is ridiculously ugly and misplaced on a cap like this; and to be honest, I sincerely doubt that this is a cap used for real.

Re: Russian Transport Lines Officer's Cap

Exactly what I was thinking.

Maybe an RTL worker wanted to be special so he made up his own cap? ;)

So if it is any other cap, it sort of looks like a KGB or FSB cap?

Re: Russian Transport Lines Officer's Cap

Now I am really beginning to think it is a military cap of some sort.
It has the same inside build as one and the same shape.

Royal blue, would that not mean FSB?
I am not sure on that one though because I have not seen any modern FSB visor caps.
