OG3 - need serial number opinions... (post 1)
Attached in this and the next posting are close-up scans of four recent OG3 acquisitions. On a couple of them, I'm confident of what the serial numbers are, but on a couple of them it's a bit unclear to me. I'd like to see what you guys think.
Here's what I think: 1. 240,910 - pretty clear I think. 2. 285,674 - looks like EngraverMan made a "7", and then realized a mistake, converting it to a "6" before he had crosssed his "7". |

OG3 - need serial number opinions... (post 2)
Here are the other two:
3. 449,099 - this one I'm confident about. 4. 489,210 - this one I'm not terribly sure about. |

Hi Brian,
For what it's worth, I agree with all your 4 proposals. Cheers. Ch. |

I believe you have got all 4 numbers identified correctly.

I agree, but my only reservation would be #2. I lean towards 285.374.

Seems logical as well, regarding the moves needed to engrave the figures...

Re: OG3 - need serial number opinions... (post 1)
Damn, you might be right about that. One long stroke on that "3" could definitely throw a guy off to think "6". I'll check it against similar engraving on some others, but I think you guys may have called it right. That would also make sense that it's not so much an error as just long and slightly sloppy "handwriting" with no error.
Alexei - what's your opinion? A deep cut on a long "3"? |

Re: Cavaliers of the Order of Glory - Present Day Market Realities
To all:
How prescient my prediction. The recent "Red Auction" in Italy saw the documented Full Cavalier set sell for upwards of $40,000.00 - a 200% increase in realized price compared to just two years ago. Certainly no deflationary tendency here. Regards, slava1stclass |

Re: Cavaliers of the Order of Glory - Present Day Market Realities
Would be interesting to see the Morton and Eden results from today... they had a Glory trio, but undocumented.
However, their last June auction got incredibly high prices.... 11,000 GBP for a ORB "3" and 27,000 GBP for a ORB "4". |

Re: Cavaliers of the Order of Glory - Present Day Market Realities
Today's auction results are in...They finally got 12,000 GBP for the undocumented glory trio (item 323), which is roughly 18,500 USD and around half that amount for single glories 1st. (items 321 and 322)
