1918 Russian Calvary Uniform

Hello,

I'm new to this forum and am looking for someone who can identify (or direct me to someone who can) the uniforms in the attached photograph. The picture is of my grandfather (Ivanoff) and his father. Also, it would be of great help if anyone can translate the text on the back of the photo.

Welcome Richard,
I’m not an expert in the White Armies, but I can try to help you. Those two junior officers (aren’t they brothers rather than father and son?) wear an uniform quite popular for the siberian cossacks during the Civil War. I have found three pictures to illustrate what I guess they are.
Pic. 1: Lt.-Gen. Ivanov-Reenov, commander of the Siberian Cossack Corps in 1919.
Pic. 2: According to A. Deryabin (White Armies, Moscow, 1998), these two officers belong to Ataman Boris Annenkov’s Partisans division.
Pic. 3: The insignia of the Annenkov’s partisans, I believe it is the same as on your photo.
I think that your grandfather was officer in the Annenkov’s division, the haircut with a wave is also very typical.
