Its only the second one I have seen; the other sold for about $2800, but that was way back in 1999 or so; not seen another since then. There are those out there who might claim its a repro ( without providing any evidence), but I think its OK, would not doubt its authenticity.

I am not a blade expert, but these are great daggers. More showy than the 1940 generals dagger. There is a pic of one of these in wear ( it was my photo at the time) in the webster/nelson book on uniforms.
