I agree with Marc. I think it would look better on an old five sided suspension.

Hi Tamas,

In June 1943 regulations for display of the Medal for Bravery (and some others) changed; the rectangular ribbon and suspension were done away with and the five sided adopted. Existing medals with the rectangular suspension were to be rehung on the five sided suspension.

So it's perfectly appropriate for your medal to be displayed on a five-sided suspension. Just as "authentic" looking as a rectangular suspension.

1. Would the above be awarded during the GPW (and listed in a Variation 3 Ordenskaya Knizhka)? Were the non serial numbered ones awarded at this time? I know the book variation was awarded to 46 (thanks Desantnik Digest).

2. Why the kapusta did they make soooooooo many OPW's,ie, types and variations? Holy beans, what was it-17 types.:confused:

I notice this has the same digits used more than once; '1' and '2' in this case.
That's a telltale bad sign I believe.
