I thought so. I had also received a Berlin medal with document. The document of the medal has the same signature and same issue date as the Odessa document.
Man I am getting pretty frustrated with this. It's not enough that medals and orders are being faked, but documents are being falsely completed? How do I know that I don't have other medal award documents which have also been falsified? If it wasn't for Alexei and the other knowledgeable members of this board, how is a simple collector like myself ...... ah, enough said, I'm going to calm down and put this over into the past. Sorry, needed to vent a bit. Good thing I didn't pay much and have asked the seller, who is a "e" dealer, for a refund. Alexei, as always, thank you very much. It's appreciated.

Please PM me the dealer's name. Any reputable dealer shouldn't be passing these off without describing them as what they really are.

Odessa Document

What do you think about this Odessa document.
I think it has also the same problems as the document above. Document is original, but the text is filled in later.
The state symbol has 15 ribbons. The stamp is from the Leningrad war commissariat.
Are all with typewriter filled in documents are "fakes"?

regards
Andreas

Odessa document

and here is the Leningrad ink stamp

Are the dates for the ribbons in the state symbol correct?

before 1930 7 ribbons
1930-1948 11 ribbons
1948-1956 16 ribbons (11 original republics +
estonian, latvian, lithuanian and moldavian republics + karelian-finnish)
since 1956 15 ribbons (loss of karelian republic status)

Your document was in all probability unofficially filled out by a forger. The document is late post-war and the forger at least put a 1960 date, as opposed to a war-time date on it. I've seen that brown color on similarly forged type post-war documents that forgers try to make them appear aged. I understand war-time documents being looking weathered, beat up and abused since they were frequently carried in the servicemember's pocket or in a military ID booklet, but you have to ask yourself why would a 1960 document presented probably under ceremonial conditions and taken straight home by the owner (not even folded) look like that.
No, not all documents filled out with a typewriter are fake.

Alfred,

I couldn't agree more with Desantnik - this is a forgery. The document was most likely soaked in manganese solution to make the paper look old. I have seen lots of those, all with the same red pencil signature.

Dear collectors,

this document seems suspicious to me. The stamp is very unclear. You can´t read the entire words.
