Victor Pugatchev is 60!!

Victor Puhatchev is a Soviet / Russian famous test pilot, who performed for the first time the famous Cobra manoeuver of the Su-27.

He is born on August, 8th, 1948 in Taganrog. He flew a number of Soviet aircraft (Л-29, МиГ-21, МиГ-23, МиГ-25, Су-7, Су-15, Су-17, Як-28, Ан-24, Ан-26, Ту-124, Ил-18) and in 1980 became Test Pilot of 2nd class. In 1982, he is appointed leading test pilot for the Su-27. Not only he "invented" the Cobra maneuver for the Su-27, but also has been the first Russian pilot to land on an aircraft carrier, the Admiral Kuznetsov.
In 1989 test pilot Victor Pugachev has been awarded the Star of Hero of Soviet Union. He has also been awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Badge of Honour (1983), the Order for merits before Fatherland" III degree (1999), and the Badge Meritorious Test Pilot of the USSR (1991).
