Inside look like current belorussian or russian lower-rank non-army caps.
Sweatband not adjustable and diamond label... |

copy
1990's copy of a "KGB General"...this is not a real one and I doubt that 'real' ones were even out there...this debate is on some older threads...i still am on the side of there not being real "KGB Generals" uniforms per se.

How about this one?
The cap as such seems to be authentic - looks like m69 general's service. All features are like in army ghenerals' caps from that period, apart from the very steep crown front.
It has no frame, but it's because guy who brought it to Poland removed all frames so that capr would not take so much space in his bag and then took only older (smaller) frames by mistake. I think that it may be KGB honour guards (but I don't know if their service caps also had adjustable sweatbands) that somone "improved" by addition of the buttons and generals cocade. |

Cageybee,
That is not a general's cap, but an officer of honor guard cap. Nice though! Marc |

honor guard
Cageybee,
welcome to the forum! the cap is constructed internally like a generals cap because it was for the honor guards (those guys you see in front of Lenin's tomb, etc.). While it looks good, i'd like to hear from a couple guys on the forum who actually specialize in Honor Guard items (i know there is at least one), but so far so good. DougD Moderator |

Judging by his avatar, he probably is aware of that.

Greeting Desantnik... yes, I am aware they use general officers grade for this cap, which is why I stuck it in here.
I am not sure of the time frame for this cap... if it is post 91 (a transitional period cap). Best regards, Wayne

buttons
What date do the buttons show? That only shows when the buttons were made and the hat is probably a year or two later, but it gives a starting point.
