Two nice looking Miners Badges. I,ve seen these 2nd & 3rd Class Badges quite often recently but not in the 1st Class.
Are they seldom seen or common?

Miner's Glory badges in all three classes were quite common on soviet emigre dealer tables at militaria shows in the Philadephia / New York City Area in the early to mid-nineties. While they weren't cheap, no dealer actually said that they were particularly valuable - it was left to the customer to assume that the badges had more in common with the nationally issued Hero Stars for valor, labor or motherhood than they actually did.

It's tough to find any real documentation on their status - oh, it's "findable" but they don't show up in most standard Russian language books on medals and other awards. For that matter, in fifteen years, I've only seen them being worn in photos only once or twice.

Nice complete set of Miners awards!

It appears to be a confusion when we refer to these as Miner's Glory orders. Well, they aren't really orders - these are badges, as astated in the accompanied documents.

That's true it is a bit confusing as to what they actually are.
This set is part of a group to Nikolaj Petrovich Potapov which also includes a Badge of Honour Order and a newspaper article.

I have no idea. Could be one of those "ebay legends", a fake, or the real thing.

I tend to think that these are fakes. I have seen them a few times, usually brand spanking new. I my opinion, they are new production, just like the "Otlichnik" badge series (which, incidentally if you have not yet see them, are also offered in a "raw" state, without enamel and screwpost).
