I recently purchased a trio document set from a seller in Moscow. All three issued to Aleksandr Grigor'evich Karyagin. First document issued on March 12, 1946 for a Victory Labor medal (Last name is misspelled as "Koryagin"), the next document issued on May 8, 1946 for the [I]same[I] medal. Last document for the 800 Years of Moscow medal, issued in Feb 1948. Any ideas as to why two documents/medals for the Labor Victory medal were issued a mere two months apart?

Simple admin. error. He'll have been on the books twice since his name is spelt wrong in one entry. I have a set to a Bulgarian that received nearly all of his awards in duplicate due to a spelling error.

Here's an extraordinary document I recently acquired for the Medal for Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War. Unfortunately, I can't find any information on the recipient, Sofya Gerasimovna Pykhtina. However, what makes this document special is that it was signed by then People's Commissar of Transport Machine-Building, Vyacheslav Aleksandrovich Malyshev. Russian wikipedia offers an excellent biography of Malyshev. To summarize his illustrious career very briefly, from 1939 on, he occupied some of the highest industrial posts in the USSR in addition to performing other important duties in the Party and government. For most of the war, he served as People's Commissar of the Tank Industry. On October 14, 1945, the People's Commissariat of the Tank Industry was renamed the People's Commissariat of Transport Machine-Building. So when Malyshev signed this document on November 5, he was continuing to lead tank-production under a new title. It's interesting to note that, though Malyshev signed as People's Commissar of Transport Machine-Building, the document is stamped People's Commissariat of the Tank Industry. 6th March 1946-03-06 awarded Е№0004504 to Serapion Aleksandrovich Berdzenishvili (Серапион Александрович Бердзенишвили) again from President Of The Executive Committee Of The Tbilisi City Soviet Of Deputies Of Workers, back to handwriting.

14th March 1946 awarded Е№0048327 to Bambit Amajakovna Grigorjan (Бамбит Амаяковна Григорян) from Executive Committee Region "26th Commissars" Tbilisi. Notice the name is write Forename-Patronymic-Surname.
