Here is the Order "Defender Of The Homeland" (Орден "Защитнику Отечества") of the Republic Union Of Defenders Of Pridnestrovie (Республиканского Союза Защитников Приднестровья).

A large three piece award that seems to emulate the post 2010 Russian award designs. I believe a 2014 establishment although I can't pinpoint it. Certainly pre-August 2014.

Here's an impressive badge or order that reads "In Defense Pridnestrovie". It bears Suvorov's image and is made of four pieces. Bronze/brass and white enamel which, despite being white (an thicker than other colours) is handled very nicely and precise. The gold plating is beautiful and the whole order is nice and heavy. A very nice piece BUT, what is it? Is it a new order, or perhaps a proposal of some sort? The "nut" on the back indicates the maker to be the Probeda factory in Moscow. Anyone who may know about this piece is certainly invited to chime in.

I first saw one of these in a journal in the mid- to late-90's and finally got a chance to examine one up close.

Another such example visible on the web uses the "Victory over Germany Medal" ribbon (also known as "Georgian" ribbon and is the same one used on the Soviet "Order of Glory"). This particular one uses the ribbon for the Soviet 40th Anniversary of the Victory in the GPW Medal, which I think is most interesting since it incorporates the above-mentioned ribbon, but also coincidentally uses the red and green of the Moldovan Transnistrian Republic.

An accompanying document is a letter-sized certificate bearing the Cossack Union (Soyuz Kazakov) letterhead and is signed by a "Pokhodnii Ataman" Colonel V.V. Naumol and bears a facsimile stamp of the Cossack Union, as well as one of the Black Sea Cossack Troops Chapter in Tiraspol.

Not a current medal of Pridnestrovie, this was given by President Igor Smirnov to the Black Sea Cossacks (Ukraine) who fought for Pridnestrovie's independence in 1991-1992. They were commanded by Colonel Kucher, who was killed in action in Bender in June, 1992.

Not the highest quality medal, it is of stamped brass (100% reverse) and the paint (possibly enamel) is certainly "outside the lines". A good addition to the collection, though.
