AMAZING !! First Production 1941 - 1942 Original WWII U.S. Army M-1 Helmet Fixed Loop & Hawley LinerHelmet has a heat stamped 43C (Late 1941 to early 42 production) by McCord.The J hook is the early type with brass sharp milled tips.The chin strap buckle is from leftover M1917A1 helmets.The chin strap is OD3 and in very good condition to excellent.Front seam, fixed loops.Stainless steel rim with most paint. Some rust inside the helmet and outside with most of the finishpresent.The very very early production helmet in a good shape with no stress fractures.
The liner is amazing to me. Similar to the helmet it is a very early production of the fibre liner 1941-1942.Fully intact rayon fabric suspension. The washers are a the early aluminum type with some white corrosion from years of being stored. It can be cleaned.It has a full cotton fabric cover with no cuts but some normal corrosion transfer from the heavy shell. The fiber shell has no cracks or broken parts. The edges are were you can see some wear. No leather chin strap but the the studs are present.
