Here is an ORIGINAL Union Army \"DISCHARGE DOCUMENT\" showing where Sergeant Major CHARLES C. JAMISON enrolled on 26th day of April (1864) and discharged from Union Service on the 28th day of September of 1864.
This UNION unit only served for 100 Days in the \"War Between The States. NOTE: Company\'s \"F\" & \"S\" wereorganized at Mattoon, Ill. with the strengtt of 852 men and mustered in for 100 days June 6, 1864. They moved to Benton Barracks, Mo.; June 10. Assigned to guard duty on Iron Mountain R.R. at the Gasconade and Osage crossings of the Missouri Pacific R.R., and at Jefferson City, Mo. Mustered out September 28, 1864.
Regiment lost 2 Enlisted men killed and 17 Enlisted men by disease during service. Total 19.

The135th Illinois Infantry Regimentwas aninfantry regimentfromIllinoisthat served in theUnion Armybetween June 6 and September 28, 1864, during theAmerican Civil War.

Service

The regiment was organized atMattoon, Illinois, with a strength of 852 men,and mustered in for one-hundred-day service on June 6, 1864.On June 10, the regiment departed for Benton Barracks, Missouri, where they reported to GeneralWilliam Rosecrans.

From there five companies of the regiment were stationed on theIron Mountainrailroad.Three companies of the regiment were stationed at theGasconade railroad crossingand a further two companies stationed at theOsage railroad crossingof theMissouri Pacific Railroadand atJefferson City, Missouri. The regiment was mustered out on September 28, 1864.During its service the regiment lost one man at Gasconade crossing and sixteen men to disease.
