33 WW2 "THE RECORDER" 1941-1945 BOOKLETS HOME FRONT SUPPORT U.S. ARMY NAVY HONOR:
$195.00
Up for sale is a grouping of thirty'-three original WW2 era booklets titled "The Recorder".
They were published monthly by The Recorder Printing and Publishing Company and the Sunset Press, with offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
They are 4" by 9 1/4" in size and sixteen pages in length.
I have posted an image of each of the 33 booklets covers. They are quite colorful, great graphics. I love the coverof the halloween pumpkin soldier staring down a running Nazi soldier. That is the October, 1944 issue.
Present in this lot are:
One issue from 1941, ten issues from 1942, three issues from 1943, ten issues from 1944 and nine issuesfrom 1945.
Lots of interesting content in these booklets, filled with the wisdom of the day. They were an effort by thepublishing company to keep the home front spirits up in the face of this terrible war.
They are all complete and in very good to like new condition, with some having light edge wear, no markings.
OF NOTE: I could not find any other listings of these booklets for sale. They are scarce.
ALSO included is an advertising flyer for Recorder-Sunset Press, circa 1944. This was laid inside oneof the booklets.
