US Civil War Model 1840 Cavalry Sword. The ricasso is marked \"Ame\" over \"Cabot\" over \"18\", and the reverse has \"US\" over \"A.D.K.\". The tang is marked \"29\" and there is a \"1\" on the underside of the guard. The knuckleguard is slightly deformed. The grip is completely gone so the guard and pommel are loose.The blade is straight, unsharpened, some nicks, has a slightly darkened patina, and has light age spots with minor surface rust scattered. The leather washer is missing. No Scabbard. Length of the blade is 35\" (1 5/16\" wide and 3/8\" thick), and the sword is 41 1/8\".
