Antique Rare U.S. Army Camel Corps Brass Bell. This is an original period US Army-issued camel bell. These bells were used during the little-known Camel Corp experiment, when 71 Egyptian camels were purchased to patrol the deserts of the southwest and haul supplies between Texas and California. The brass bell is in good shape for its age. There are 2 small holes in the side of the bell. The leather strap is still intact although some is missing. This measures about 41/2\" wide at the widest part, 4\" high to the top of the bell (not including the strap). Payment is expected within 48 hours after saleending.
