American Revolutionary war period, British Grenadier’s bearskin cap. Bearskin body which has the Universal stamped plate affixed to the front showing the royal arms. The rear of the cap would have had red cloth, however this is pretty much absent now show only a couple of fragments of this, along with red staining to the exposed leather. The interior has a hessian sacking. A extremely rare piece of early British headdress.
