Here we offer a great Civil War sword . It is a Mansfield & lamb Cavalry Sword. You can tell from the signs of use , the worn leather grip the age in the blade and the dings and dents in the scabbard that this sword saw service during the Civil War. The hilt is brass mounted with a nice dark patina. The curved blade has a dark age patina . The obverse ricasso has the stamp of " Mansfield & Lamb . The reverse ricasso has stamped " US / SC / 1862 " Now the confirmation of the date on this sword is The inspectors initials " SC " this stand for Silas Crispin who only worked in 1862. It is complete with its scabbard which show signs of use with dark stains and a few dents , one good one. The overall length is 40 1/2" with a 34 1/2 " blade.
