This sale is for one theater-era 843rd Bomb Wing organizational Patch, home-based at the storied Burpelson Air Force Base in Burleson, Texas. The 843rd Bomb Wing is best known for carrying out wing attack \"Plan R\" on the ICBM complex at Kodlosk, Russia, before ditching at the weather ship Tango Delta.
This fine quality Patch represents all the best attributes of the Strategic Air Command, denoting their hallmark \"Peace is Our Profession\" mantra. While at the same time immortalizing the 843rd Bomb Wing Commander, General Jack D. Ripper\'s rallying message to SAC for the \"…best possible start.\" The Essence of his message is not lost on this great Patch.
When asked to comment, Colonel \"Bat\" Guano stated that General Ripper was unavailable due to a shaving accident. Sadly, Aircraft Commander Major \"King\" Kong was lost during the mission attempting battle damage repairs in-flight. His efforts too are reflected on the Patch.
