Ring Face Frame: 1/2"+ x 1/2"• Rise: 1/8" above the finger• Shank: 3mm wide, 1mm deep• Weight: 5.25 grams• 10k Yellow Gold• Size 5-6• Stamp: HJ10K• Monogrammed: "Skid"• Gold tested with the GemOro AuRACLE Gold Tester
This estate find came out of Chicago, IL. This ring is in lovely vintage condition with actual wear from being worn by a female merchant marine.
Storytime: The owner of the ring was called "Mackie", nicknamed from Margaret and she was about 5 feet nothing when she sailed with the navy as a merchant marine. When I was dating my now husband she was apart of the family. My mother in law whose estate this ring ultimately came to was her caregiver. Her stories were amazing and full of grit. She was originally a Chicago South-sider after all. Oh, her stories could peel layers of paint but they were always with cause.
This is just one of her things we were willing to share. The rest we'll keep near and dear.Inquiries encouraged. Feel free to ask further.
