Grades -

  • Grade 2 - Previously issued surplus with decent signs of use. There will be a few small millimeter wide exterior holes, some light marking and some signs of wear inside. Buttons on the neck will have been replaced. Zipper still in great condition. Good as a thermal layer where looks don't matter as much. Grade 2 is pictured.
  • Grade 3 - Includes all the issues of grade 2, as well as some larger holes, missing neck buttons and stronger markings / stains. It includes the drawstring, but it needs readjusting. Cheapest grade we offer. Still has lots of durability, especially if time was spent repairing. Price reflects all the issues.

Retro French surplus, used in many branches of the French army. It mostly saw use as a general purpose jacket, for more menial work, not being used in much combat. In short, great for walking the dog, not so much for mountain climbing, although certainly durable!

The design is very simple. It opts for just a zipper front, with a button storm flap collar if desired. The cuffs are elasticated to help trap in heat and the waist has a drawstring to which helps insulate further. The polyester blend shell is smooth, helping it slide in and out of whatever outerwear you have on.

Softies are a great addition to any wardrobe, especially if you're outdoor orientated. They're comfortable, warm and easy to shove under any smock or coat. I've had mine for years now and wouldn't be without it. Obviously it's great for winter, but even in summer it comes in handy as a wind breaker of sorts.

All jackets come in a vibrant olive green with a dark olive drab fur inside.
