JAPANESE WW2 CAVALRY LONG "KO" SWORD withMATCHING SCABBARD. Dated Taisho 2 ( 1913). Mint 100% rust and pitting free blade.The blade's preservation was made possible by a layer of what looks like organic cosmolite ( judging by its smell), which I removed with a wooden spatula to take photos and then put back.Cavalry long "ko" sword is much harder to find than a more common army "otsu" sword. "ko" swords were issued to the cavalry only. ( Jim Dawson, "Swords of Imperial Japane" pg 120 ) Excellent wooden grips, sharp checkering, no chips or cracks on wood. No major dentson the scabbard, just some minor ding and very small rust spots, the lock works fine, intact leather finger loop.Please see my other knives, swords and bayonets.
