Modified HGU-26 Jump & Named M1 Helmet Cover Army Paratrooper Vietnam Vet Group:

In this sale you are offerding on two helmets I purchased together. You will receive used M1 steel helmet and a modified HGU-26? helmet, with a extra clear visor. Both are from the estate of Retired Chief Master Sgt. Stanley Williams (12/5/1933-11/4/2021). The HGU-26 has some parts missing, the visors need some new parts to work properly and the edge roll is cracking and coming off. The Eagle is a sticker and the pathfinders logos are painted, as well as his name is painted. The inside liner is different and I believe made for skydiving/jumping/bump helmet? Honestly not sure. Both helmets could be restored. The M1 helmet shell has airborne straps but the liner does not. Rear seam swivel bales, with some heat stamp present. Liner is dated 1965 and helmet cover has 1970 contract date. I did not even realize that the liner had another gentleman’s name on it,” Andy Stewart”. Liner is a Firestone manufactured. No sweatband. I have not changed anything with these helmets and I have not even taken off the helmet cover all the way. Just enough to show the shell paint color.
Other than a quick Google Google search, I have not researched CMSgt. Williams.
