Very nice Civil War U.S. belt and buckle. This is the early war issue with original brass loop keeper. This wonderful piece been a treasured part of my collection for years and shows signs of honest wear and age from decades in storage. The belt is constructed of two-inch-wide leather hide and is fitted with a brass belt keeper which was a big improvement over the earlier model M-1855 which had an integrally-sewn loop. Measures 39 inches in overall length. The belt plate has a handsome untouched patina with full lead solder on back. Leather is dry to the touch but still very pliable and free from any major damage. Overall, a very strong example of a U.S. Infantryman’s belt in very good condition. I’m selling a few items from my 30 year collection so please see my other listings as well.
