Please understand that this specific item is for collectors who are of legal age to purchase this item.There is very little we know about this item. Please make your purchase based on the photos and what you may know that we don't (our loss is your gain)!
There are no markings. The Dagger / Knife is double edged and includes a sharpening Steel Scabbard. The blade length is about 6 inches. There is a weight level on the butt end of the knife and the handle seems to be dark walnut (possibly painted or stained) with colored bands on top and bottom. The blade guard looks to be brass. The Scabbard is steel with original black paint and has a steel clip to attach to the top inside of the boot. The Dagger / Knife weights 3.1 oz. The Scabbard weights 2.0 oz.We know a bit about how this item was obtained which may help with your purchase decision. The Veteran was in the 4th Armored Division which played a key role in the Battle of the Bulge and supported the encircled US forces in Bastogne, Belgium. This knife was captured from a German soldier during that campaign and shipped back (in a handmade wooden box) to the USA after the war. It has only been taken out of the wooden box a few times since to show friends and family.
