ORIGINAL HAITIAN PHOENIX #26 BUTTON CIRCA 1810-1820 ERA RARE LARGE 25MM! Here is an extremely rare original #26 Haitian Phoenix button dating back to the 1810-20 era. This button was dug in the United States Legally.It is out of my Phoenix Button Collection. I have the second largest and second most complete Phoenix Button collection known to exist. I wrote a book on part of mycollection (the book is out of print and the one pictured is not part of this sale and not for sale). There are approximately 94 different Phoenix Buttons counting all the different regiments and the many different types and styles they came in. My collection contains almost 70 different out of the 94. It has taken me decades to collect this many different ones.I am selling an extra from my collection in this sale. The button in this sale all are the large size 25 mm. It has the full original shank . All are type 1 style 1 buttons. The regiment of this #26 button is Borgne. These buttons were made in England over 200 years ago for King Henri Christophe of Haiti. The buttons were shipped to Haiti and some may have never gotten there and were found and used as trade goods for the Native Americans in the United States. Phoenix buttons are extremely rare and many of the 18 regimental numbers only a handfulexist.
