FIT COMMENTS - This Epic Primaloft Jacket is tailored to fit over most PCU/ECWCS base layers and a combat uniform. This jacket features a more athletic cut than a standard ECWCS Level 7 Primaloft Parka, but it's still loose through the arms to accommodate layers.
As a reference point, I'm 6'2", 230 pounds with a fairly athletic build. I'm a Large Long in US Military clothing and wear 46/48 Long civilian jackets. A Large Long standard-issue ECWCS Level 7 Primaloft Parka fits over all 6 Levels/Layers on me with a little room to spare. However, this XL Epic Primaloft Jacket fits me pretty well over just a light base layer. The loose/long sleeves are a nice bonus with my long arms. The torso of the jacket would start to feel snug with more than a base layer, combat coat and Polartec fleece layered it.
This jacket is clearly designed for a snug fit over moderate layers with minimal insulation and superior breathability and water resistance during vigorous activity in cold environments. Don't rely on the size tag! Compare the actual measurements to verify that this specialized jacket is sized right for you.
