Provenance: The George Moller Collection (author of American Military Shoulder Arms, Volumes I, II, and III). An inferior example sold at another saleeer for nearly $1,400. Two similar English examples - with no provenance - sold at a high end saleeer for $2,300 and $3,100, before buyer’s premiums. This is an exquisite example with fine motifs and likely American craftsmanship with the highest provenance is a literal once in a lifetime acquisition.
