Medal of Sainte-Helena gold gilded bronze modal 1857. Obverse profile of the Emperor Napoleon I, reverse of medal Campaigns from 1792-1815. To his companions in glory, his last thought, May 5, 1821. upper part in the shape of an imperial crown. Original green silk ribbon with vertical stripes. Designed and produced by the sculptor Desire-Albert Barre considered the first French “commemorative medal” for veterans of the First Empire. Over 400,000 soldiers of Napoleon’s Grande Armee (French, Belgians, Irish, Polish, German, etc. ) benefited from it. Miniature reduction 1.8 cm. Rare in this style.
