  1. BACKGROUND:
This is a quality reproduction of the M1936 Musette Bag issued to troops during WWII. It can be worn as a pack, attached to the M1936 Combat Suspenders, or as a bag by using the includedshoulder strap. Although issued Army-wide, these are most often associated with the Paratroopers of the 101st and 82nd Airborne divisions. US Army Paratroopers used these as backpacks due to the impracticality of the older M1928 Haversack for airborne operations. Paratroopers wore the musette bags attached to their M1936 suspenders, while other troops did either that or over the shoulder using a “general purpose” shoulder strap, which we have conveniently added to every bag.This M1936 is made of durable 100% cotton duck canvas with high-strength steel hardware, built very closely to the original US specifications.
The musette bag has a small, 5″ x 5″ external side pocket, and a larger, 10″ x 12″ rear pocket, both closed with tack buttons. The main compartment is approximately 11″ x 12″ x 5″, and this has an internal divider that itself is divided in two, giving 4 actual compartments inside.

Care:Hand clean & air dry only! Machine washing and/ or dryers will cause shrinkage and damage to hardware.
