Two original seven page WWII letters and envelope written by Dr. Hundley who was a Major in the76th General Hospital. Both letters are dated Friday, Aug. 4, 1944. Major Hundley is in England getting ready to go to the ETO.


These letters has wonderful content. The letters includes a few small photos of him with the 76th GeneralHospital in Germany.These are newly printed photos and not all of them are on photo stock paper, I do not have his Uniform it was sold a long time ago.

Also included in the group is aFacsimileof a letter he sent to his wife datedApril 23rd1945, and somecorresponding dated Stars and Stripes newspaperarticles(alsoFacsimiles).In the letter he writes about the Holocaust,Eisenhower andthe liberation of the camps and the treatment of the POWs.Inthis Facsimile letter he writes this:

“These are cold facts and not propaganda. I\'ve talked to many of the ones who survived and they verify it all. This is the kind of enemy were up against and who MUST be dealt with accordingly. I\'m delighted that gen. Eisenhower has requested the delegation of Congressmen & publishers to come over and see for themselves, and only hope they return in time to report to the Conference …”

AboutMajor J. Warren Hundley.

Idon\'thave a lot of details about him but the 76th General Hospital was a major hospital at the time and Dr.Hundley,was there during the discovery and liberation of the Germanprisoncamps. Also he was there during the Battle of the Bulge, Jan. 8th 1945, when a V-1 ‘buzz bomb’ struck the hospital, killing 24 patients and staff, injuring another 20, and causing heavy damage to installations and equipment,Liège, Belgium.
